Daniel Bryan was forced to announce his retirement from in-ring competition back in 2016 because WWE doctors refused to clear him to return to the ring. Since then Bryan has become the General Manager
of SmackDown Live and has openly talked about the fact that he will return to the Independent Circuit as soon as his current WWE contract runs out.Bryan can't wrestle forever and it seems that with his wife's plans to have a large family, Bryan has to have a plan B.
